As the weatherman predicts a cold snap coming up, there’s no need to panic about what to do over the half term holidays. Here’s a great selection of activities to keep you and all the family entertained in the warmth of some of some of Merseyside’s best family friendly venues.
Join Tate Liverpool for Moving Mobiles (13th -19th February). Explore shape colour and balance in the artworks from the collection and make your own colourful moving mobile to take home. Help create a giant mural with Shades of the Shoreline at Lady Lever Gallery (13th, 17th February), have a go at Mask Making (14th and 16th February) at the Beatles Museum, or make your own glass sun catcher at World of Glass (14th February).
If they love bugs then pop along to one of the World Museum’s Creepy Crawly Tours (14th,15th,16th February) and get a closer look at the weird and wonderful specimens from the collection.
Enjoy a week of fashion events with Fashion Fix at Walker Art Gallery (13th – 17th February). Dress up, join in the fashion themed workshops and have your family portrait taken in the 1970s photo booth. For the budding musician Sam’s Musical Voyage, Maritime Museum (13th February) and African Beats, International Slavery Museum (17th February) lets you experiment with different instruments and explore tribal dance.
Finally round off a fun filled week at FACT with their regular Saturday Film Club. With games and activities, as well as a film to watch, you can be sure that boredom is not an option.
So whatever the weather man says, we predict fun, entertainment, plenty of laughter with maybe the occasional sunny spell if we’re really lucky!
